European Markets:  

EU major markets closed in the red as investors took some profits of the table in a very light volume choppy trading day. The markets lacked any leadership and most major sectors closed in the red led by Basic resources and Autos. Ipsen.de was EUSX600 best performer up 6.4% after a better than expected earnings report. The EUSXX600 index closed lower 0.14%. There is no important news on the agenda Friday.

Forex & Commodities markets

While FX markets went thru another mixed day GOLD turned out to be the clear leader in the commodities markets up 1.5% on weakness in the dollar and a move to safe haven investments following the global markets overall weakness. The inventories number failed to impress OIL traders and the oil prices closed hovering above 54$ per barrel. There is no important news on the agenda Friday.
